Riassunto
This thesis is the result of the work conducted during a six months internship at
A-tono Technologies srl. This study has two major purposes: (1) to investigate the
science behind blockchain, the technology and its main applications from Bitcoin
and cryptocurrency to Ethereum and Smart Contracts, exploring the current state of
the art, (2) to develop a Proof Of Concept of a decentralized Ticketing Application
running smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Blockchain technology has
been introduced in order to guarantee integrity and to prevent touting and fraud in
the ticket market, giving transparency to the whole process without needing Third
Trusted Parties or any user personal information disclosure. Finally on the basis of
the results of this research, an empirical evaluation of the decentralized application
developed and of the Ethereum platform was provided.
