Riassunto
The thesis presents a theoretical model that predicts the deformation of neutron stars under the effects of the magnetic field and accretion. A realistic equation of state is considered for the interior of the star. The observational prospects of the model are also studied, in particular for what concerns the possibility of detection of continuous gravitational waves from rotating deformed neutron stars.
