Riassunto
The presence of numerous intestinal diseases and pathologies underscores the importance of utilizing intestinal phantoms for research purposes. Intestinal phantoms serve as valuable tools that enable researchers to simulate and study the characteristics, mechanisms, and progression of various intestinal pathologies, leading to improved treatments and patient outcomes. However, considering the limit of currently available phantoms and the absence of dedicated pediatric models, the aim of this thesis is to develop an intestinal phantom that accurately replicates the anatomical features of children small intestine, the mechanical properties of bowel wall, the composition of intestinal contents, and the presence of a homogeneous mucosal layer
