Synovial sarcoma is a rare and aggressive soft tissue tumor. It metastasizes to organs for 50%. It occurs in young people between 20 to 50 years old and it is located more frequently in the extremities than in joints.
The study enrolls a total of 130 patients, diagnosed between 1984 and 2015. The analysis is performed with Kaplan Meier test, log rank test and multivariate analysis. The aim of the study is evaluating the importance of surgery versus radio-chemiotherapy treatments.
The results of the study are: surgery is the better strategy to control local recurrences; chemiotherapy is not statistically significant factor to prevent metastasis.
