Riassunto (Italiano)
A MIMO radar can be described as a multistatic system where each transmitter sends a generally unique waveform. In this thesis the performances of widely distributed MIMO Radars have been studied under the hypothesis of coherent processing, i.e. with the same reflection coefficient on each transmitter-receiver path. Performances have been evaluated thorugh the Cramer-Rao Lower Bounds for the position and velocity of a target immersed in Complex Elliptically Simmetric Clutter, in order to evaluate the impact of more realistic clutter distribution. Both spatially white and correlated clutter have been examined. In addition the effects of the phase mismatch between different transmitters/receivers have been evaluated, showing that in order to profit from coherent processing good phase synchronization needs to be achieved.
