The purpose of this study is to perform a Monte Carlo parametric calculation aimed to evaluate the best working conditions of ETNA, a new facility designed for the High Flux Reactor (HFR, Petten) for fuel and material testing.
The former facility dedicated to this kind of investigation (LYRA), will be dismissed for aging reasons and will be replaced with this new facility.
Therefore, a detailed preliminary neutronic assessment has been carried out in order to find the optimized conditions in terms of shielding, geometry and materials for this new facility.
