Genetic Algorithms techniques and methodologies have been deeply analyzed considering practical applications as well. Thus it was possible to highlight the pragmatisms of this recent technique. Afterwards it has been analysed in detail a technological process of realization of a forging tool. For the aforesaid process only analysing the practical applications presented in literature we realized, either a fitness function for each sub process, either the overall GA necessary for the optimization of the overall process. It was used MATAB software for the implementation of the algorithm; the results were analyzed and conclusions were realized.
