This dissertation will focus on the translation (from Portuguese into Italian) of the works Satânia and As Màscaras do Destino, written respectively by the authors Judith Teixeira and Florbela Espanca, who lived during the period of Portuguese Modernism. The thesis will examine the historical and literary context of the first half of the twentieth century, with particular emphasis on the two writers and their biographies. Another chapter will describe the condition of women writers during this period, as well as the works mentioned above and their shared characteristics. The core of the thesis will be the translation of Satânia and The Masks of Destiny, accompanied by a translation analysis outlining the process behind the translation choices that were made.

L'elaborato si occuperà della traduzione (dal portoghese all'italiano) delle opere di Satânia e di Le Maschere del Destino, scritte rispettivamente dalle autrici Judith Teixeira e Florbela Espanca, vissute durante il periodo del Modernismo Portoghese. nella tesi verrà affrontato il periodo storico-letterario della prima metà del Novecento, con focus particolare sulle due scrittrici e sulle loro biografie. Un altro capitolo descriverà la condizione delle autrici durante questa epoca, la descrizione delle opere citate precedentemente e le loro caratteristiche affini. il fulcro della tesi sarà la traduzione di Satânia e di Le Maschere del Destino, insieme a un'analisi traduttiva in cui viene elencato il processo alla base delle scelte traduttive effettuate.
