The work done in this thesis starts from theoretical research to understanding the problem of the roughness for roads and runways.
The parameters studied were the Boeing Bump Index (BBI) and the International Roughness Index (IRI).
The study was accompanied by the use of the Power Spectral Density (PSD) and by the Low Pass Filtering and High Pass Filtering on the longitudinal profile data.
A comparison analysis was also carried out on profiles acquired statically, with rod and level, and dynamically with an inertial profile, trying to understand what changes when different methodologies are used.
In addition, data were acquired using a profilometer at different speeds, trying to understand what is involved in the final calculation of the indices acquired data at various speeds.
