Riassunto
The investigation delves into the intricate interplay between local values and environmental (in)justices within mining contexts. The study aims to uncover how these values influence or are influenced by dynamics of environmental (in)justices in territories affected by mining. The research seeks to reveal the complexities of articulating justice amidst varied local values and explore the deeper implications of these articulations for justice politics and the ontological fabric of (post)mining territories. The research adopts a transdisciplinary approach integrating environmental sociology, political sciences, and anthropology, drawing extensively from political ecology and anthropology of mining contributions. By focusing on two distinct cases - Vazante in Brazil and Iglesias in Italy - the research aims to challenge and leverage theoretical notions of environmental justice and mining, offering insights into the futures of extraction. Through qualitative and comparative "two-case" case study methodology, the research explores the spatiotemporal variables within mining contexts, emphasising the importance of understanding local values and their impact on environmental (in)justices.
