The thesis analyzes the evolution and the disintegration of the concept of truth in Western thought. The first chapter reconstructs its history, from the original formulations in the classical Greek world to the certainties of modernity. The second chapter focuses on the rupture brought about by Nietzsche, who through the deconstruction of objective certainties and the announcement of nihilism, paves the way for perspectivism. The third chapter examines the postmodern, analyzing how the crisis of the public sphere has led to the empire of the simulacrum and to hyperreality. In the fourth chapter, the focus shifts to the material infrastructure of this decline, exploring the impact of the web and algorithms on our perception of the real. The fifth chapter delves into the social consequences of this fragmentation with the rise of post-truth, where the primacy of emotion and tribal relativism threaten democratic stability and competence. Finally, the sixth chapter investigates the most recent frontier: the role of artificial intelligence, the automation of the digital simulacrum and the industrialization of disinformation, raising crucial questions about the future of human knowledge.

La tesi analizza l'evoluzione e la disgregazione del concetto di verità nel pensiero occidentale. Nel primo capitolo viene ricostruita la sua storia, dalle originarie formulazioni nel mondo classico greco fino alle certezze della modernità. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sulla rottura operata da Nietzsche, che attraverso la decostruzione delle certezze oggettive e l'annuncio del nichilismo, apre la strada al prospettivismo. Il terzo capitolo esamina il postmoderno, analizzando come la crisi della sfera pubblica abbia condotto all'impero del simulacro e all'iperrealtà. Nel quarto capitolo l'attenzione si sposta sull'infrastruttura materiale di questo declino, esplorando l'impatto del web e degli algoritmi sulla nostra percezione del reale. Il quinto capitolo approfondisce le conseguenze sociali di questa frammentazione con l'ascesa della postverità, dove il primato dell'emozione e il relativismo tribale minacciano la tenuta democratica e la competenza. Infine, il sesto capitolo indaga la frontiera più recente: il ruolo dell'intelligenza artificiale, l'automazione del simulacro digitale e l'industrializzazione della disinformazione, ponendo interrogativi cruciali sul futuro della conoscenza umana.
