The present work aims to provide a new critical edition with commentary of Callimachus Iambus 12. It consists of a general introduction to the text which discusses a number of issues relating to the manuscript tradition of the poem, to its poetic and literary context and to the relationship it denotes not only with the other poems of the collection, but also with other contemporary hellenistic Iambi.In the second part of the work, I will provide a new reading og the papyri preserving the poem and a critical text with an apparatus and a detailed commentary. I propose to concentrate not only on textual and papyrological issues, bus also on broader literary and interpretative questions considering at the same time a comparative approach with the contemporary hellenistic and the later latin poetry.
