Questa tesi tenta di ricostruire i lineamenti dei commentari retorici antichi di cui rimane traccia negli scolii alla Contro Androzione. I criteri che guidano tale operazione sono in larga parte desunti dallo studio di M. Heath “Menander: a Rhetor in Context”, Oxford 2004. Una volta individuate le diverse linee di esegesi all’interno degli scolii i testi sono stati corredati di una traduzione (la prima in una lingua moderna) e di un apparato di note che aiutasse a contestualizzarli nel panorama della retorica antica.
This thesis aims at reconstructing the outlines of some ancient rhetorical commentaries, the remains of which have been preserved within the corpus of scholia to Demosthenes’ Against Androtion. Most of the criteria on which this reconstruction is based had been previously defined by M. Heath “Menander: a Rhetor in Context”, Oxford 2004. Once the different traditions were identified among the scholia, the single texts have been provided with a translation (the first one into a modern language) and an apparatus of notes, so as to enable their contextualization in the panorama of ancient rhetoric.
