Riassunto
The present work introduces a unified growth model which includes endogenous longevity and public health investments into the theoretical framework developed by Yakita (2010).
Multiple development regimes may arise as a consequence of the existence of two phases in the dynamical system. Under proper parameter assignments, the poverty trap becomes a virtual equilibrium and the economy converges to a sustained-growth steady state, regardless of the initial conditions.
Numerical simulations are performed in order to study the results provided by the model.
