Riassunto
This work deals with the comparison between simulations of two turbines:
the Aachen turbine and a low pressure turbine. These simulations are run, for each turbine,
with the same setting in terms of boundary conditions, initial conditions and numerical schemes.
They differ for the domain discretization type: indeed the purpose of this works is to compare the solution obtained by a structured, an unstructured and an hybrid mesh, trying to understand
the reason underneath the differences we will find out .
Moreover we will show two different type of unstructured mesh:
one obtained by conversion from the structured one and another one completely processed in an unstructured environment.
All the meshes have the constraint to be comparable:
they must have as much as possible the same number of cells and the same boundary layer characteristics.
Simulations and mesh generation are performed with NUMECA tools.
