Riassunto
This work is focalized on the photo-CVG of selenium and arsenic volatile species which are generated from of Se(IV) and As(III) inorganic species in the presence of formic and acetic acid. The type of UV sources for the photo-CVG were expanded from the typically employed electroded lamps to laboratory made mercury and cadmium microwave-electrodeless discharge lamps (MW-EDL). Photo-CVG experiments made with classic mercury lamp (emission spectral lines at 254 nm) was compared to an homemade cadmium MW-EDL lamp (emission spectral line at 228 nm). In this way it’s possible to evaluate the efficiency of the photochemical process in relation to different UV wavelength, considering that a different extent in the overlapping of the UV lines could be achieved with the absorption spectra of carboxylic acids (reagents) and volatile Se and As species (analyte).
