Shrouded impellers of radial centrifugal compressors can be fabricated by means of brazing of an hub with integral blades to the shroud. This thesis work deals with the static, short-timed strength of brazed T-Joints. A failure criteria is identified through the analysis of experimental data available in the techinical literature. The elastic plastic proprieties of the braze layer are then investigated observing their effects on the necking process of a butt-brazed tensile test specimen. Custom tests re-creating the geometry and some loading conditions of the actual joint are then proposed and analyzed.
