Riassunto
The representation of non-standard varieties of English in literature and film. This work focuses on the strategies authors and filmmakers can adopt in order to represent dialect respectively in their novels and in their movies. One book and one film in particular are examined: "Remembering Babylon" by David Malouf and Guy Ritchie's "Snatch": they both offer many examples to analyse. How can meaning be conveyed through the representation of dialects? What meaning is conveyed? Why?
This work primarily focuses on answering these three questions.
