Riassunto
This thesis deals with the introduction of the CMOS inverter in the analog field as an innovative approach to solve issues that characterize the scaling of devices and power
supply. The related advantages and disadvantages are illustrated, as well as
the analog blocks for which it is employed. In particular, the focus is on
the various types of inverter-based OTAs reported in the literature so far,
highlighting their limitations and potential solutions. After that, a pseudo-differential, single stage, inverter-based amplifier for ULV applications is presented and gradually evolved by making improvements regarding the stabilization of current and of the common mode output voltage. In the end the relative layout is presented.
