Riassunto
"Readings Will Grow Erratic: Revising Philip Larkin's Production Through Alternative Perspectives" follows the biography of the English poet and author Philip Larkin through the analysis of his literary production and letters with the intent of offering new critical interpretations to his oeuvre. The recent publications regarding some of the author's previously neglected aspects provide new insights on Larkin's literary works. The first part of this work focuses on the reconstruction of Philip Larkin's biography through a study of his letters in relation to a selection of poems closely related to the author's personal experiences. In the second part of the work, the focus of attention is on Philip Larkin's novels (including the works published under the name of Brunette Coleman) with the aid of key critical texts to the understanding of the author's production. The third and final part of the work focuses on Philip Larkin's collections of poems published during his lifetime, paying close attention to a selection of poems highlighting the subversive (and controversial) aspects of the author's poetics.
