Riassunto
The thesis presents the design and testing of a Flat Quench Antenna (FQA) for use with superconductive high-field magnets at CERN. Unlike traditional cylindrical quench antennas, the FQA is specifically engineered for magnet configurations without apertures, such as those found in block coil and racetrack magnet demonstrators. These demonstrators are critical in the developmental road towards the Future Circular Collider (FCC), CERN's forthcoming particle accelerator. The antenna's design was informed by a preliminary study on the ambient noise affecting the sensor system. This analysis facilitated the refinement of pickup coil configurations to enhance sensitivity and noise immunity. The testing phase encompassed empirical trials using simulated quench and noise sources to verify the antenna's detection accuracy and noise filtering efficacy. Overall, the FQA exhibited high precision in quench localization and substantial resistance to background noise.
