Riassunto (Italiano)
The thesis aims to synthesize new lanthanide complexes with chiral sugar as a binder. These complexes could emit polarized light in the visible area, thus making CPL. Circularly polarized light (CPL) is the emissive counterpart of circular dichroism (EDC). It allows to study the stereochemical and electronic structural features and probe specific biological targets with the changing of the emission spectra. The ligand is characterized by DPA, which is responsible for the coordination of lanthanide, and the sugar moiety. The DPA is connected to the sugar with glycosylation on anomeric carbon and esterification on OH in C-6. We want to study how sugar in the binder can affect the emission of CPL of Ln(III), in particular Eu(III) and Tb(III).
