Riassunto (Inglese)

This thesis explores the detection and localization performance of the Einstein Telescope, with a focus on binary neutron star systems. The study combines a realistic simulation of source populations with a custom-built detection pipeline capable of modeling full gravitational-wave observing runs. Two ET geometries—triangular and dual L-shaped—are considered, both as standalone observatories and as part of a hybrid network with second-generation detectors in their upgraded, post-O5 configurations. We demonstrate how second-generation detectors can significantly enhance localization capabilities hlighting the importance of maintaining second-generation interferometers in operation.
