Riassunto
Production of a novel three-dimensional graphene nanostructure conformally grown on a porous 4H SiC wafer and characterization of its hydrogen storage capabilities. The investigation aims at determining the role of the substrate, as well as the effect of three-dimensionality on hydrogen intake. Hydrogen loading was conducted using molecular species as well as individual atoms. The different behavior in the two scenarios was used to gain insight on the catalytic processes taking place on the structure surface. Thermal Desorption spectroscopy (TDS) measurements were conducted on the samples after hydrogen deposition and allowed the detection of chemisorption and physisorption signals. An alternative TDS procedure was also used to study the effect of the three-dimensional topography of the structure on the desorption. Surface characterization of the sample was performed via STM, Raman spectroscopy and LEED
