Riassunto
In this thesis work we will analyse this mathematical framework in order to assess its
ability to model the performance indexes of the memory sub-system in a generic case. This
will be done through simulations of various systems: the Interference-Free System,
that represent the ideal case of infinite L1 cache with infinite associativity; the Dedicated
System, in which we have the complete system dedicated to a single partition;
finally, the Partitioned System, representing the whole system with concurrent partitions
leading to a competition for the resources that the memory sub-system provides.
After the validation of the model we will analyse few corner case to evaluate the effective-
ness of the partitioning of the cache resources with respect to the system that does not
use partitioning.
We will conclude this work proposing few future works that allows the MPAM sub-system
to evaluate and use such baselines to modify the configuration of the partitions.
