Riassunto
The final goal of this thesis is to contribute to the understanding and development of
multifunctional reactor technologies. The present investigation is focused on the fluid
dynamics of the new catalytic structured packing Katapak-SP developed by Sulzer
Chemtech, which combines the advantages of fixed catalytic bed reactors and structured
separation internals.
The application field of these heterogeneous reactive internals is continuously spreading
because reactive separation is demonstrating to be an advantageous feasible alternative
to traditional systems for an increasing number of processes.
