Riassunto (Inglese)
Riassunto (Italiano)
This thesis will investigate the possibility offered by MEC to create novel ser-
vices. In particular, it will investigate the possibility to use MEC to assist
congestion control in TCP. It is in fact likely that TCP run-time support could
benefit from knowing context information, made available via MEC services, to
discriminate among possible causes of congestion events for connections travers-
ing a radio access network. The thesis will propose a service architecture that
allows TCP run time to use MEC services on behalf of an application, and
investigate TCP congestion control algorithms that leverage MEC information.
