Riassunto
The wakes past wind turbines are usually very complex. However, a detailed knowledge of the mean flow field alone is often sufficient in order to estimate fundamental characteristics of the flow. For instance, stability analysis applied to the mean flow field can provide important informations on the wake instabilities. For the application of this technique, however, the mean flow field need to be spatially resolved and this is very demanding from an experimental viewpoint. Conversely, detailed numerical simulations could provide such informations but at a very large computational cost. Most of the times, especially in experiments, partial information is available which does not allow the application of techniques as the one mentioned above. This work is dedicated to the development of a model, which is able to incorporate the informations available from experiments or simulations, aimed to reproducing the mean velocity flow downstream the wind turbine. The model is an axial symmetrical solver for the RANS equations which are closed by an Eddy Viscosity model. The Eddy Viscosity is tuned so as to minimize the difference, in a proper norm, between the estimated mean flow field and the reference measurements used to build the model. The quality of the mean flow model is appraised by the comparison between the original velocity flow (owning either to LES or experimental data) and the reproduced one. As for the reference data, two database are considered here. The first is a database collecting results of LES simulations of the wake past a wind turbine. The second database is the collection of measurements take from LiDar surveys regarding the streamwise velocity values.
