Autonomous driving is a technology that is evolving faster and faster and whose importance is growing significantly. As the technology advances, so does the need to ensure that such systems are safe, in order to protect human lives. This thesis aims to evaluate the safety of autonomous driving systems consisting of classical controllers or more elaborate ones such as Model Predictive Control, with a predetermined route and in presence or absence of obstacles, performing Design Space Exploration to assess the behaviour of the system under different conditions.
