This thesis documents a six-month internship at ScioSense, a leading sensor technology manufacturer, focusing on environmental sensors. It explores designing a sensor interface, emphasizing analog front-end, mixed-signal, and digital processing. Addressing sensor performance degradation post-stress, the thesis aims to design an impedance measurement front-end. It covers sensor modeling techniques, including Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. Utilizing Simulink and MATLAB, it models a transimpedance amplifier, addressing non-idealities like op-amp characteristics. Cadence tools validate the design further, considering process variations and mismatch effects. The thesis concludes by discussing areas for redesign.
