Riassunto
The objective of this thesis is to conduct a population-based study that examine the impact of anatomical variations of the thoracic aorta during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The population was generated using a statistical shape modelling tool that included the supra-aortic vessels and a morphological analysis was performed to characterise them. CFD simulations were performed on healthy cases and, based on the results, on pathological cases during the ECMO procedure. Each step was automated using Python scripts due to the large amount of data and simulations.
