Riassunto
This thesis project aims to characterize the performance of structured packing with hydrophobic coatings. The coating allows for flow regimes different from classical film flow. Therefore, the effects on pressure drop and mass transfer were analyzed. The characterization was done by comparison with uncoated packings in terms of hold-up and mass transfer performance.
