This thesis investigates the integration of search and recommendation systems in a unified framework. It reviews existing approaches in information retrieval and recommender systems, with particular attention to conversational and exploratory search scenarios. The work proposes a classification of methods for joint search and recommendation, highlighting how different techniques address user intent and information needs. The goal is to better understand how these systems can provide more effective and personalized support to users in complex information-seeking tasks.
