Riassunto
The thesis presents a detailed exploration of the Business Intelligence approach to enhancing decision-making at Amazon, with a specific focus on the Weekly Business Review process as illustrated through the WBR 2.0 project.
Undertaken by Amazon’s Worldwide Dangerous Goods team, the WBR 2.0 project aimed to refine the WBR2 - a critical document for assessing operational performance and guiding strategic decisions, especially in the complex realm of Dangerous Goods management.
The project’s primary objective was to overhaul the existing WBR framework, integrating advanced metrics, enhancing data visualization, and providing a more granular analysis to improve the clarity, accuracy, and actionability of insights derived from these reviews.
This paper underscores the transformative potential of a centralized data pipeline for holistic reporting and decision-making within a global e-commerce giant. The internship involved hands-on experience in leveraging cutting-edge BI tools and technologies to extract, transform, and load vast datasets from diverse sources. An in-depth analysis of Amazon’s data ecosystem was conducted, unraveling the details of the integration of BI solutions into the company’s operational framework. Through this comprehensive examination, the study highlights the pivotal role of BI in fostering a data-driven culture that enhances operational efficiency and strategic agility.
