This thesis concerns the design and the evaluation of an individual information system to support workers in performing assembly operations. The peculiarity of this information system is the ability to adapt itself to the operator who is using it and to the production system where it is employed. Firstly the parameters of the information system were defined. After the values of these parameters were set according to the characteristics of the production systems and of the operators and their influences on the information system itself. Lastly the information system was evaluated through an application in an assembly process: the instructions obtained with the information system were compared to standard and common instructions. The results show the benefits of the individual information system and the advantages of its instructions.
