Riassunto
Radar-based monitoring is a contact-less alternative to the conventional monitoring techniques.
The Doppler shifts caused by the mechanical movements of heart and lungs can be detected and, in this way, heartbeat and respiration rate can be measured. However, the limit of current radar involvements is that it is possible to monitor heartbeat and respiration rate under "ideal condition", that is, just on a single person constrained to be motionless (i.e., seated or lying down avoiding any kind of random body movement). Moreover, the results still lack in accuracy. During the thesis, I have developed algorithms on Matlab aiming at Random Body Movement rejection and multi-people tracking and vital signs monitoring.
