Riassunto

Worldwide, there are significant disparities in the availability of electricity, with developed countries having widespread accessibility, while developing countries often struggle to provide access to their citizens, particularly in rural areas. To address this issue, decentralized electrification has emerged as a viable solution, as extending the main grid to remote areas can be prohibitively expensive due to high connection and maintenance costs. Microgrids have become a central solution in this context. They are independent grids that rely on local generation to meet their load requirements, with an increasing emphasis on renewable energy sources. Conventional generation groups provide backup when needed, and storage systems are used to manage the system more effectively. In particular, microgrids can offer a more reliable and sustainable solution for remote areas, promoting local economic development and improving the overall quality of life for those living in these regions.
