Riassunto
In the framework of fracture mechanics, a physical defined model for a cohesive element is necessary to be able to predict accurately the damaging behaviour of a laminate. A 3D model in “ABAQUS” has been
developed to simulate the ASTM defined DCB, ENF and MMB trials and used an isotropic model to get
results. From the problem that arises with the use of this kind of model, a new anisotropic model has been theoretically developed, from a new way of definition of the displacement field to the development of an evolution law for the damage.
