Riassunto (Italiano)
The aim of this work was to observe the effect of the microalgae strain Chlorella sorokiniana extracts on the germination of A. thaliana and, through gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, to investigate on the presence of any phytohormones in this strain, to suppose a possible correlation with the effects observed.
From these results, we can state that a solution of around 400 cells/ml of Chlorella sorokiniana, broken as well as intact, are enough to give a very effective inhibitory effect on the germination of Arabidospis thaliana.
Nevertheless, we can declare that these microalgae do produce the higher plants growth regulator indoleacetic acid, isolated in free form.
The IAA-producing species of microalgae, like that subject of the study, can find more than one useful application.
