Homo viator. El descubrimiento del mundo a través de los viajeros è un saggio in lingua spagnola, scritto da Pepe Pérez-Muelas, edito da Siruela Biblioteca de Ensayos nell’anno 2023 e ancora inedito in Italia.
L’argomento trattato non assume una forma prettamente accademica, bensì mescola tratti di finzione e di narrativa. Il tema di Homo viator, come suggerisce il titolo stesso, è quello dell’uomo viaggiatore, che compie diversi viaggi per altrettante motivazioni che lo spingono ad andare oltre il proprio confine territoriale. I viaggiatori che menziona sono uomini e donne realmente esistiti, di cui si narrano le loro storie, le loro imprese e il perché dei loro viaggi. Inoltre, i luoghi descritti contribuiscono ad arricchire il saggio: l’Europa, l’Asia, le Americhe, l’Africa, l’India e l’Antartide ognuno dei sei continenti della Terra possiedono delle figure e delle città specifiche in cui l’uomo viaggiatore ha creato la storia del mondo. Anche la stessa testimonianza dell’autore è presente nel testo, i viaggi da lui compiuti e le sensazioni vissute vengono riportate con estrema maestria nel testo.
In questa tesi, accanto alla traduzione di alcuni capitoli del saggio, è presente un commento traduttologico in cui vengono analizzati gli scogli traduttivi incontrati e come si sono affrontati in traduzione.

Homo viator. El descubrimiento del mundo a través de los viajeros is a Spanish essay, written by Pepe Pérez-Muelas, published by Siruela Biblioteca de Ensayos in 2023 and still unpublished in Italy.
The subject covered does not take on a purely academic form, but mixes features of fiction and fiction. The theme of Homo viator, as the title itself suggests, is that of the traveling man, who makes several trips for as many reasons that push him to go beyond his territorial boundaries. The travellers he mentions are real men and women, whose stories, exploits and reasons for their travels are told. In addition, the places described contribute to enrich the essay: Europe, Asia, America, Africa, India and Antarctica each of the six continents of the Earth possess specific figures and cities in which the traveller man has created the history of the world. The author’s own testimony is also present in the text, his travels and the feelings he experienced are reported with extreme mastery in the text.
In this thesis, next to the translation of some chapters of the essay, there is a translation commentary in which the traduttive hurdles are analysed and then translated.
