Riassunto
The aim of this thesis is the study of the seismic attenuation system for the Einstein Telescope, focusing on ways to lower the frequency of the seismic wall limiting the detector sensitivity. In this context, I have worked at the development of a Python simulation tool designed to calculate transfer functions for super-attenuator systems based on dynamical models of rigid bodies and elastic links, arbitrarily interconnected. In the frequency domain, the study of these systems can be performed using the Impedance Matrix Approach. I have participated in the development of this simulator, first by implementing a Graphical User Interface to easily build any type of mechanical system in a CAD-like environment. Then I have worked on the design and optimization of the connection and network of impedance matrices. The GUI and the network representation of impedance matrices greatly accelerate the process of generating the configuration files required by the simulator. In the last part of the thesis, I have applied the impedance matrix approach to some configurations for seismic attenuation, in order to provide a sample of test cases for the simulator. In particular, I have worked on some specific configurations of proposed Superattenuators for the Einstein Telescope, showing the potential to achieve a low frequency threshold at 2 Hz.
