This thesis aims to evaluate the possibility of using recirculation in the refining of short fiber. This study was conducted using the PM3 machine from the Sofidel plant in Porcari (LU) as a test bench. To extract the data necessary to evaluate the use of recirculation, various tests were conducted (on different types of pulps) including Schopper-Riegel degrees (SR°), Kajaani, measurement of retention and zeta potential. In conclusion, the following data was analyzed to evaluate, compare and discuss parameters such as pulp cost (long fiber savings), energy consumption, characteristics of the finished product.
