Riassunto
The aim of this thesis was the development of an organic and biodegradable electrochemical sensor onto a casein-based film (CLEOS). The fabrication of the casein-based film was carried out by a green chemical process using glycerol and water as plasticizers, whereas trehalose as cross-linker and partially plasticizer. The film was characterised by means of thermal (TGA, EGA-MS) and spectroscopic (FTIR-ATR, XPS, Dielectric) techniques. Contact angle, water vapour transmission rate, colour, transparency, and biodegradability were also evaluated. A PEDOT:PSS/reduced graphene oxide ink was produced and manually screen-printed onto the film surface to obtain electrically conductive electrodes. To prove that CLEOS could be used for chemical sensing, an electrochemical capacitor was fabricated to measure the response to different pH values in buffer solutions.
