Riassunto
The object of the present work is the control of the boundary-layer separation in a two-dimensional symmetrical diffuser at low Reynolds numbers, through a passive method. The fi nal goal is thus to increase the pressure recovery inside the diffuser itself by reducing or, if possible, by avoiding the flow separation. The passive control method consists in modifying the geom-
etry of the diffuser walls using appropriately-shaped cavities.
