L'elaborato trae origine dalla mia esperienza di tirocinio svolta presso il team Transportation Planning di Barilla S.p.A. ll primo filone di analisi ha natura processuale e organizzativa ed è finalizzato all’analisi dei singoli processi di pianificazione attualmente in essere dei flussi di trasporto import–export dall’Italia verso i mercati esteri. L'obiettivo è definire un modello di processo TO-BE fondato sul principio di standardizzazione end-to-end e di integrazione. Il secondo filone ha invece un taglio quantitativo e si concentra sulla distribuzione verso il mercato austriaco, che presenta criticità significative in termini di saturazione dei mezzi e costi di trasporto. Si approfondisce la fase di order acquisition gestita dal Customer Service locale, valutando l’impatto di una diversa strutturazione dell’order book e di una pianificazione più efficiente dei flussi in termini di saving economici misurabili.
This thesis originates from my six-month internship experience within the Transportation Planning team at Barilla Spa. The first line of the analysis, has a process-oriented and organizational focus and aims to analyze the current planning processes governing import–export transportation flows from Italy to international markets. The thesis proposes the definition of a future process model based on end-to-end standardization principles and characterized by an integrated approach. The second line adopts a quantitative perspective and focuses on the distribution flows toward the Austrian market, characterized by significant criticalities in terms of vehicle saturation and transportation costs. The thesis investigates the order acquisition phase managed by the local Customer Service team, assessing the impact of an alternative structuring of the order book and a more efficient planning approach in terms of measurable economic savings.
