    Riassunto

The University of Pisa participates to the licenscing of Atucha-II nuclear power plant (argentina). The objective of the analysis presented in this work is to “lay the fundaments” for Atucha-II I&C qualification, which consists in demonstrating that the logical schemes ensure a safe response during steady and transient operations and represents a support for the Accident Analysis foreseen in the licensing procedure.
Moreover, this work gives an overview of the Reactor Control, Limitation and Protection Systems of Atucha-II nuclear power plant, which presents particular design aspects, since it is derived from "standard" Siemens pressurized light water reactors, but it employs natural uranium as fuel and heavy water as coolant and moderator.
Therefore, also Atucha-II I&C systems presents particular solutions. Nevertheless, the general structures of such systems and their "phylosophy" are the same which characterize the other Siemens nulclear power plants (in particular, KONVOI) and which can be applied to futur plants, such EPR.
