Riassunto
The purpose of the present thesis project is to design an experimental test bench for the testing and characterisation of high speed turbomachinery commonly used in the automotive field.
The first section of the work develops a technical introduction to the topic and an analysis of the state of the art and the experimental data available in literature, to define the bench specifications related to the operating conditions of the turbomachinery under consideration.
The second section describes the definition of a bench layout, the dimensioning of the test circuit and a critical analysis of the various operating configurations, in order to obtain an apparatus that is as versatile as possible. Finally, the legal
framework concerning machine safety is analysed and the compliance of the test equipment is verified.
