Riassunto
This Master Thesis illustrates the realization of a new test-type useful for the analysis of modern fuel injectors’ spray. The test is based on the data provided by the Spray Momentum Test Bench, a test bench largely used in the automotive field. The test has been developed by using an organized procedure, which consists of the filtering of the data, and the following qualitative, and then quantitative, analysis. The final results are satisfying for the analysis of industrial fuel injectors: with this new test is possible to characterize the fuel injectors based on their shots. Finally, the test will be object of future developments that will improve the procedure in order to make it suitable for the detection of cavitation phenomena in the modern fuel injectors.
