Riassunto
The present study, is the Lexical Analysis of Persian Words Used by Pietro Della Valle in His Book Persia, aims to investigate these linguistic inclusions in depth. By conducting a detailed lexical analysis, this thesis seeks to uncover the meanings, origins, and contextual usage of Persian words in Della Valle’s writings. This endeavor not only illuminates the linguistic landscape of 17th-century Persia but also sheds light on Della Valle’s interpretative processes as he navigated a language and culture markedly different from his own. Understanding how he incorporated Persian terms into his narrative provides valuable insights into his perception of Persian society and the broader cultural exchanges of his time.
