Riassunto
This thesis presents an exploration of emerging technologies within the realm of decentralized systems, focusing on permissioned blockchain, fractional Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). The research is conducted in collaboration between the University of Pisa and European Broadcasting Union (EBU), with the aim of bridging academic expertise and industry insights. The central topic of the thesis revolves around media content exchange based on permissioned blockchain, with an emphasis on the exploration, feasibility, and potential implications.
The thesis delves into the intricacies of permissioned blockchain architectures with Hyperledger Besu framework, exploring their applicability and efficiency in ensuring secure and transparent media transactions. The study also investigates the concept of fractional NFTs, exploring their potential to fractionalize ownership of digital media assets.
A significant aspect of this research involves the integration of DAOs in media exchange, by presenting an implementation of the platform for media context exchange between the EBU members. In order to provide Proof of Concept, various smart contracts, written in the Solidity programming language, are developed to support the fair and transparent governance of media-related transactions.
The findings presented in this thesis not only contribute to the academic discourse surrounding permissioned blockchains, fractional NFTs, and DAOs but also offer exploratory work as a starting point for further research and practical activities on these topics.
